Ciliwung Lama to Become More Green with Fruit Trees Planting

Residents living in Kenari inspection street area, RT 15/04, Kenari Urban Village, Senen, Central Jakarta are taking advantage of a 30-meter-long land on the Ciliwung Lama riverbank to conduct farming using the pot fruit plant method (Tabulampot).

Besides making the environment more green and lush, it is also aimed to invite residents not to throw garbage into the river.

On the land, they planted 30 pots with various types of fruit trees such as, guava, Jamaican guava, star fruit, and mango.
"We also add propagation media for red wine, passion fruit, and cantaloupe," he added.
Meanwhile, one of persons who manage the Tabulampot land, Royani (60) expressed that all fruit harvested has not yet been sold.
"We usually share it with locals if the plants are fruitful," he told.
